Alex was rather upset all yesterday evening, crying and squirming. The upside is that his replogyle tube seemed to be working fine, which is rather uncharacteristic, as it usually clogs within 2 hours of inserting it. I guess that means that he might be getting over his cold, making his secretions a little less thick. When we came in today, he was dressed in his cute little overalls, with his turtleneck on. I'm convinced that he is the cutest baby in the world. (This opinion is of course completely unbiased.) I will have pictures to prove this claim, but only when I get home to upload them, as I am in the hospital right now. He was awake for the majority of the time that we were here so far, and he's been very curious of what's going on around him, checking out the nurses, and following me with his eyes and head whereever I went.

My sister, Natasha, visited us yesterday and took this picture of Alex. Isn't it great?

We found out today that he's scheduled for another gap-o-gram on Monday the 18th, and he's on the schedule for surgery on his esophagus for the following Friday the 22nd. Obviously, if the gap-o-gram suggests that he won't be ready for surgery, then they will put it off, but we can definately see the light at the end of the tunnel now for when we can bring him home. They won't let us bring him home immediately after the surgery, but after he's healed, and the feeding issue is taken care of, we should be able to show him the room that we've been making for him.
